The latest leak from Nintendo headquarters is centered around one of the best selling Nintendo DS titles to date, Animal Crossing: Wild World. Fans are already tweaked about the Nintendo Wii successor in the works, but rumor now has it that AC will be a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game.

UK gaming magazine Edge reports “a Japanese source has confirmed that the upcoming Wii iteration of Animal Crossing is set to be a social networking MMO.” While none are shocked about this decision by Nintendo, many are excited to see what new and innovative features will be added to this release.

Still this is all just rumor, and Nintendo has not confirmed any details concerning Animal Crossing for Wii. However, with all the buzz around this topic you can most likely expect some official comments from Nintendo in the near future.
